given 一詞常見的用法有以下二種：
▍given 用在假設語氣的句子中，意指「若有…」或「假設…」。注意句子主詞和 given 那一句的主詞保持一致。
例： 若
照顧得宜，蘭花將可擁有持久的賞花期。
Given the right care, the orchids will give a long-lasting flower display. 意思等同於：
If the orchids are given the right care, the orchids will give a long-lasting flower display.
Given the right care, the orchids will give a long-lasting flower display. 意思等同於：
If the orchids are given the right care, the orchids will give a long-lasting flower display.
主要句和 given 那句的主詞一致，都是 the orchids。
例： 若 再給我第二次機會，我將不會犯同樣的錯誤。
Given a second chance, I won’t make the same mistakes. 意思等同於：
If I am given a second chance, I won’t make the same mistakes.
主要句和 given 那句主詞一致，都是 I。
▍given + N 或 given that + S + V 意指「考慮到…；有鑒於…」
▍given + N 或 given that + S + V 意指「考慮到…；有鑒於…」
例： 有鑑於
農曆新年即將到來，這裡有些送禮的好點子。
